The OLSAT-8 practice test is now available to download on MyLAUSD (password protected for District personnel only). This is an official product, authorized and published by Pearson Publishing; administering this practice test will not invalidate test results. It is recommended that school site GATE administrators or coordinators download the practice test and Directions for Administration (DFA) for distribution to second grade teachers. Note: Answer key is provided in practice test DFA, page 12.

 

The purpose of this practice test is to prepare students to take the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test, Eighth Edition, (OLSAT-8), so that they will be familiar with the types of questions that will appear on the test. The practice test is not scored. Therefore, students should be given as much help as they need to complete the questions successfully. For most effective use, the practice test should be administered approximately one week prior to the regular test administration. Second grade teachers should become thoroughly familiar with the directions and procedures before administering the practice test.

 

Students will take the practice test to simulate the actual test-taking experience. The practice test can be sent home to parents AFTER it has been completed and discussed in class; the cover letter delineating acceptable use of the practice test by students/parents MUST be sent home with the completed practice test.
