Gifted/Talented Programs values student experiences and perspectives. We offer workshops to students to expand their knowledge about their own unique characteristics and needs. Additionally, we have a Districtwide GATE Student Advisory Council with students from all over the District representing your voices. Explore this page to learn more about GATE services in LAUSD.
GATE Student Advisory Council (GATESAC)
The GATESAC was established during the 2023-2024 school year. The purpose of the GATESAC is for students to provide input on District GATE policies and programs to improve the GATE student experience in LAUSD. Additionally members learn important information so that they can advocate for themselves and other students. Each year a diverse group of high school students are selected to represent gifted and talented students from across the District. The representatives attend in-person and online meetings throughout the school year and organize a student conference.
